Benjamin Shors, clinical associate professor of journalism and media production, has been named a fellow at the 2018 Scripps Howard Journalism Entrepreneurship Institute.

PULLMAN, Wash. – When Ana Cabrera first set foot on Washington State University’s Pullman campus in 2000, she had no idea she’d become a CNN weekend news anchor 17 years later.

PULLMAN, Wash. – Marian S. Nordquist, who worked for Washington State University from Jan. 1989-Sept. 1994, died Oct. 14, 2017, at Bishop Place in Pullman. She was 88.

Tom Farrey’s 2008 book, “Game On: The All American Race to Make Champions of Our Children,” started a movement that culminated in the creation of Aspen Institute’s Project Play, an initiative that provides stakeholders with tools and opportunities to make sport accessible to all children, regardless of zip code or ability.

EVERETT, Wash. – Technology and media industry leaders will explore the ethical issues unfolding within emerging social virtual reality platforms at a breakfast and panel discussion titled “Ethics in 3D Spaces,” 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the Tiered Lecture Hall,  room 102, at WSU Everett, 915 N. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Society of Professional Journalists has recognized Lawrence Pintak, founding dean of WSU’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, as a Fellow of the Society for his “extraordinary contribution to the profession of journalism.”

PULLMAN, Wash. – Two WSU faculty members, Chad Kruger and Jessica Willoughby, were recognized by Provost Dan Bernardo at the Sept. 2 WSU vs. Montana State football game for their outstanding contributions as faculty members.

PULLMAN, Wash. – Four WSU students have won nationally competitive Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships to study abroad in summer 2017. A fifth student was named an alternate.
