Kamaka Ukulele brothers receive WSU alumni award

HONOLULU – Brothers Samuel and Frederick Kamaka, owners of Kamaka Ukulele, were honored July 23 with the Washington State University Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of service to their community as entrepreneurs and promoters of cultural heritage and in passing on the tradition and values of a family-owned business.

Popular conservation writer receives WSU alumni award

LINCOLN, Neb. – Paul Johnsgard, an ornithologist, artist and emeritus professor at the University of Nebraska, was honored July 12 with the Washington State University Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of writing and teaching that has expanded public understanding of natural history, conservation and pressing environmental issues.

Pathologist, business exec receives highest alumni award

PULLMAN, Wash. – Nancy A. Gillett, an acclaimed experimental pathologist, scientific leader, research manager and global business executive, has been selected to receive the 2013 Washington State University Regents’ Distinguished Alumna Award – the university’s highest alumni award.
