Oct. 7: WSU organic farm hosts annual Fall Harvest Festival

Eggert Family Organic Farm logo PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Eggert Family Organic Farm will hold its annual Fall Harvest Festival, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7.

The festival will include u-pick pumpkins, a produce sale, games for the family, pumpkin pie, fresh apple cider, face painting and music. The event is hosted by the farm and organized by students in WSU’s Organic Agriculture major. Several students will be on hand to direct and interact with festival participants.

“As a part of the Organic Farm and Garden Field Management course, I’m excited to have the opportunity to organize the farm’s biggest event of the year,” said Karen Fritch, Harvest Festival student organizer and WSU junior majoring in Environmental Engineering. “This is an event that the community looks forward to every year. Along with picking the most gorgeous Jack-o-Lanterns and cooking pumpkins you’ve ever seen, we’re having a games tournament!”

Pumpkins will include jack-o-lanterns, pie pumpkins and specialty pumpkins of different colors.
Pumpkin Pricing:

  • 10 pounds and over: $0.75/pound
  • 6-9 pounds: $1/pound
  • 3-5 pounds: $1.50/pound
  • 0-3 pounds: $2/pound

Most other produce will be sold by the pound as well.

The farm is located directly behind the WSU Bear Research, Education and Conservation Center on the corner of Terre View and Animal Science roads. Follow the signs up the hill. Cash or check only. No pets allowed.
