Degrees awarded to more than 3,000 in Pullman

PULLMAN, Wash. – Family members and friends packed into WSU’s Beasley Coliseum on Saturday, May 6, where more than 3,000 graduating students received diplomas during the university’s annual spring commencement ceremony.

The three separate commencement ceremonies, which began at 8 a.m. and continued into the late afternoon, saw the vast majority of the university’s 3,026 spring graduates receive their diplomas and shake hands with WSU President Kirk Schulz and other senior faculty and administrators.

In an 8 a.m. ceremony at Beasley Coliseum, the WSU colleges of Agriculture, Human and Natural Resource Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, Veterinary Medicine, and the R.O.T.C. program awarded a combined 855 undergraduate degrees, 92 master’s degrees and 66 doctoral degrees.

In the morning’s second commencement ceremony, the WSU College of Arts and Sciences awarded

777 undergraduate degrees, 26 master’s degrees and 35 doctoral degrees.

In the final ceremony of the day, which began at 3 p.m., the WSU colleges of Business, Communication, Education, and Nursing awarded a combined 1,036 undergraduate degrees, 117 master’s degrees and 26 doctoral degrees.
