PULLMAN, Wash. – English madrigals and songs pulsing with the “Rhythm of Life” will be sung in a free, public concert at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, in Bryan Hall at Washington State University to conclude the annual day-long, educational choral festival for high school music programs.
The WSU Madrigal/Chamber Singers will perform English Renaissance madrigals that portray famous women’s names of that period. Four selected high school choirs will sing. The WSU Concert Choir will conclude with selections from Daniel Elder’s “Three Themes of Life and Love,” “Shall we go dance?” by Charles Villiers Stanford, “I Am Not Yours” by David N. Childs and the spiritual, “I’m Gonna Sing ‘Til the Spirit Moves in My Heart.”
WSU faculty will work throughout the day with 11 high school choirs from Washington and Idaho. Their free, public performances will be ongoing in Kimbrough Hall 9:20 a.m.-3:45 p.m. and Bryan Hall 3:45-4:30 p.m.
