Baker-by-Lori-Maricle-80SPOKANE, Wash. – Danial Baker, a WSU pharmacy professor, has been appointed to a four-year term as one of 11 voting members of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Arthritis Advisory Committee.

The committee represents the interests of consumers and consumer organizations in advising the FDA commissioner on the safety and effectiveness of drug products submitted for approval for human use, specifically the marketed and investigational drug therapies that treat arthritis, rheumatism and related diseases.

“I look forward to representing our profession and Washington State University through this important role with the FDA in service to the American public,” Baker said.
