Oct. 9: Fall into healthy habits at wellness fair

Health-Fair-Flyer-80SPOKANE, Wash. – Free health screenings and information about moving toward healthier lifestyle choices will be available at the annual health and wellness fair 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Washington State University South Campus Facility, Room 260, at 412 E Spokane Falls Blvd.

Health-Fair-Flyer-300Students from WSU’s nutrition and exercise physiology program and the campus wellness collaborative will host the free, public event. Vendors will represent recreation, healthy living, nutrition, healthcare, fitness and more.

Free health screenings will include blood pressure, heart rate, height/weight, body fat, fitness, nutrition and cholesterol (please sign up for cholesterol testing at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f44a9aa23a3fd0
). Students from the College of Nursing will offer blood sugar screenings and students from the College of Pharmacy will administer free flu shots on a first-come first-served basis.

Visitor information

Public transit STA routes 26, 28 and 29 serve the WSU Spokane campus. The Centennial Trail provides pedestrian/bike access, and bike racks are located by every campus building.
