Media advisory: Jim Dine gift announcement at Wright

Jim-Dine-80 SEATTLE – Internationally acclaimed artist Jim Dine will join Washington State University President Elson S. Floyd at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, at the Wright Exhibition Space here to announce a multimillion-dollar gift to the WSU Museum of Art.

A new exhibit of Dine’s work will be open free to the public 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays, June 12-July 19, at the space, 407 Dexter Ave. N. Parking details are attached and can be found at

Jim Dine entered the New York art world to great acclaim with his performance art “Happenings” and mixed media assemblages in the late 1950s. Initially identified among the first generation of Pop art, Dine’s work has defied labeling. He has continued to work over the course of five decades, producing an astounding body of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculpture.
