sketch-detailPULLMAN, Wash. – An exhibit of drawings by Washington State University and University of Idaho faculty in architecture, landscape architecture and interior design will display diverse approaches in their disciplines to the idea of location.

Sketch by Matt Brehm, University of Idaho.

“Hand Sketching and Engagement of Place” will open with a reception at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, in the School of Design and Construction gallery in Carpenter Hall at WSU. Refreshments will be served. The exhibit will continue through Oct. 13.

“Whether as a tool to discover, understand, interpret or conceptualize ‘place,’ hand sketching remains a highly valued mode of design communication,” said Carrie Vielle, WSU clinical assistant professor of interior design. “It is a sought after talent by the design and construction professions.”
