Alaska Air awards travel grants; next round due April 22

imagine-tomorrow-alaska-logoSEATTLE – Forty faculty and students received travel funds from the first round of Alaska Airlines Travel Awards.

As part of Alaska Airlines’ three-year title sponsorship of the Washington State University Imagine Tomorrow competition, the company has committed 3 million airline miles to WSU faculty, graduate and undergraduate students working in the competition categories.

The recipients come from across the WSU system and represent disciplines ranging from education to materials science. The faculty and students are traveling across the United States to present their work, gain insights, make connections and advance WSU’s mission.

Two awardees will use the funds to bring speakers to WSU in Pullman and Vancouver to present about the food-energy-water connection.
