There is a chill in the air, so it must be time for pumpkins and squash to perform spectacular scientific feats as they drop from the 12th floor of Webster Physical Science. It is the Ninth Annual Pumpkin Drop on Dad’s Weekend, Saturday, October 12, starting at 10:30 a.m.!
This event is fun for all ages to enjoy as they meet with “Justin Beaver,” world famous scientist, Galileo, and this year’s zombie, vampire, and werewolf scientists, in (kind-of) re-enacting Galileo’s famous experiment. This will take place on the courtyard area between Webster and the Institute for Shock Physics building, so gather a little early behind the safety barriers.
Join us for activity/science tables at 10:30 am for our never-ending search for extreme science. See science demonstrations, T-shirts for sale, feats of pumpkin physics (liquid nitrogen dipped pumpkins), candy for the kids, and win a chance to drop a pumpkin!! And, after the event, all are welcome to pick up pumpkin pieces for soups or pies!! (Bring your own containers, please.)
