Athletics launches new website

SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State University Athletics, in partnership with NeuLion, announced Monday the re-launch of website with an emphasis on mobile, social and video to better serve Cougar fans. The new website, powered by the NeuLion College Platform, also becomes part the Pac-12’s new unified digital network.

The relaunch of and creation of the Pac-12’s integrated digital network focuses on providing fans with a more streamlined experience on a singular platform that delivers a variety of new features for a more user-friendly and interactive experience.

“The Pac-12 digital team has been forward thinking and innovative in its approach to streamlining the websites of its conference members,” said WSU Director of Athletics Bill Moos. “In partnership with NeuLion, this joint venture will give Cougar fans the ability to follow us across all platforms, greatly improving content and the use of video while simplifying the process.”

With a renewed emphasis on video, fans visiting will be able to watch Cougar highlights and access live events with fewer clicks. The new site features a video centric main article rotator, allowing for a more prominent display of compelling video, as well as photos. Live streaming events also will be showcased, as will video features, highlights and other essential stories for fans.

Additionally, by being part of the Pac-12’s integrated digital platform, Cougar fans who receive Pac-12 Networks through their cable or satellite provider can access all seven networks via ‘TV Everywhere’ authentication through directly from the schedule.

For the last 12 months we have been gathering information from Pac-12 fans in order to deliver the kind of engaging experience they are looking to have with their favorite teams, universities and each other,” Pac-12 Digital Vice President/General Manager David Aufhauser said. “The creation of a unified network focused on mobile, video and social content will enable all Pac-12 athletic departments to build a deeper connection and great digital experiences for their fans.”

“For Washington State fans the new website and experience is fantastic,” said Chris Wagner, EVP and co-founder at NeuLion. “The NeuLion College Platform will give the athletic department the ability to publish content more quickly and the new design will make it easy for fans to find game schedules, recaps, watch highlights and interact with other fans”

Social media integration throughout the new website will allow fans to connect and interact with the site and each other via Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other social sites. The new social media features will eventually allow for fan customization as well as easier sharing and commenting. In order to be mobile friendly, the new will feature ‘Responsive Design,’ allowing automatic detection of screen size that adjusts for desktop, tablet or mobile use for easier viewing and navigation.
