At what price? Cost of higher ed topic of public debate

PULLMAN, Wash. – Tuition and the cost of higher education will be discussed in a free public forum (http://cce.wsu.edu/public-forums) at noon Tuesday, Feb. 5, in Butch’s Den on the CUB lower level. It is part of a forum series sponsored by the Center for Civic Engagement at Washington State University.

Tuition has increased an average of 54 percent over the past decade across the nation and at WSU, while federal and state funding has diminished. How can universities make higher education accessible to students? Should government invest more in higher education? Is a college degree still worth the price? Students, faculty, staff and administrators will explore this complicated topic.
