Iris Bombelyn, vice president at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, will present a lecture on the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPVC), which aims to carry astronauts on deep-space exploration missions starting within the next decade.
The lecture will take place on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. in the Engineering, Teaching, and Research Laboratory (ETRL) 101 on the Pullman campus.
Bombelyn, program manager for the Mobile User Objective System program at Lockheed-Martin, will discuss the Orion MPCV, for which Lockheed Martin is the lead contractor for NASA.
Bombelyn leads a team at Lockheed Martin that is responsible for the design, build, and delivery of five satellites and four ground stations to provide secure communications for mobile users around the world.
