Scott Cassels, executive vice president of Kiewit Corporation and a WSU alumnus, will talk about his journey from WSU student to becoming supervisor of more than 5,000 employees and some of the largest infrastructure projects in North America.
Cassels will hold an open forum on “The Ultimate Journey Through the Industry,’’ at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, in Communications Addition (CADD), Room 21.
His presentation is part of the Constructing America lecture series sponsored by the WSU School of Design and Construction. Kiewit is a $10 billion Fortune 500 construction, engineering and mining organization serving North America and Australia.
Cassels has executive leadership responsibility for Kiewit’s Infrastructure Group, which includes projects up to several billion dollars in size across the US and Canada in the transportation, heavy civil and water/wastewater markets. More than 5,000 salaried employees under his watch are responsible for building some of North America’s largest infrastructure projects, including the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Connector project; the Port Mann/Gateway project in Vancouver, British Columbia; and the Hebron gravity-based, oil and gas structure off the coast of Newfoundland.
