PULLMAN, Wash. – Students, employees and community members of all ages are invited to celebrate Chicano/Latino Heritage Month at the Washington State University fall Freedom School 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Native American Cultural House, 975 B. St., Pullman.
The event is sponsored by WSU cultural houses, http://culturalhouses.wsu.edu/, and the WSU Office of Equity and Diversity, http://diversity.wsu.edu/.
During the 1960s, civil rights organizers established such schools in the South to teach children and adults about voting, the political process and other educational enrichment. WSU Freedom Schools continue that tradition by providing children and adults with opportunities to honor their own cultural heritage and learn about others.
The program:
3 p.m. – Welcome and introductions

4:45 p.m. – community gathering and closing
