PULLMAN, Wash. At the request of pharmacy students at Washington State University, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy will pose for a photograph while a student pharmacist gives him his seasonal flu shot at the CUB on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
The event may draw more attention to the fact that flu shots are being given at the CUB all week, said Jansen Filio, a second-year pharmacy student and co-chair of the students’ Operation Immunization to vaccinate Pullman campus and community members.
Dean Gary M. Pollack will receive his flu shot at 10:30 a.m. in the CUB Lair. Flu shots will be available at the CUB from pharmacy students 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 1-5. Cost is $25. Cash and checks are acceptable.
Pharmacy students are partnering with WSU Health and Wellness Services and other student organizations to hold flu clinics throughout the campus during September and October. A new immunization delivery system, called intradermal microinjection, is available for those who are looking for smaller needles.
