Business programs continue to lead in college rankings

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University College of Business scored top marks in the recent U.S. News & World Report rankings.

According to “America’s Best Colleges 2013,” the college ranked 72nd overall in the Best Undergraduate Business Programs category and was 45th among public national universities.

“2012 has been a year of significant progress toward our strategic goals of publishing cutting-edge research, reforming and developing our curriculum and building sustainable revenue sources,” said Eric Spangenberg, dean of the College of Business. “Despite economic challenges, our programs have flourished and are recognized as some of the best in the country.”

The college’s undergraduate international business program ranked among the top 20 overall and was 13th among public national universities. This continues a tradition of excellence in international business of more than 25 years. The college is home to WSU’s strongest study abroad program, and its Global Learning Requirement, pioneered five years ago, established the college as a leader among business schools nationally in developing global business leaders.

“The bottom line is that immersion in the global dimensions of business is the best way for students to develop a relevant business mindset and also discover what they can really do,” said Jerman Rose, director of the International Business Institute. “The result is a huge growth in confidence and skills that will serve them for life.”
