Satellites, space, and policy are topics that Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for Space Programs Richard W. McKinney will discuss at his presentation “How Does the U.S. Air Force Use Space?” Wednesday, April 18 for the Common Reading Program.
The lecture will be at 7 p.m. in Todd 116, and the public is invited.
Alumnus McKinney (’73 BA Bus. Admin./Marketing) spent 28 years in the Air Force before retiring in 2001 as a colonel. In 2002 he was appointed to the Senior Executive Service, a corps of federal executives changed with leading the continuing transformation of government.
McKinney’s presentation is the final lecture in the Common Reading Tuesdays expert series for this year.
Mr. McKinney is speaking at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19 in the Bundy Reading Room in Avery Hall. His Foley Institute “Coffee and Politics” presentation is entitled “Space Policy 101.”
