Apr. 17 – Natural and Unnatural Disasters: What is Our Relationship with the Environment? (Earth Day Under the Big Tent Debate)

From climate change to oil spills, debate surrounds the consequences of human interaction with the environment. Recent headlines have been filled with reports of destructive earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, flooding, wild fires and more. A perceived increase in erratic weather patterns and frequency of natural disasters lead many to question how humans can better interact with the natural world. To what lengths should people go to mitigate natural and unnatural environmental disasters, and what can be realistically achieved? Please join students, faculty, staff and community members in the CUB Lair (First Floor) at noon on Tuesday, April 17, to discuss these important issues. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate. We hope to see you at this debate! Visit http://cce.wsu.edu/utbt for more information.
