Free desk copies of the 2012-13 WSU Pullman Common Reading book, “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” are available for teaching faculty at the co-located Pullman-Spokane campus who are interested in considering using the book in a course for the coming academic year.

“Henrietta Lacks” is a best-selling non-fiction book that has fueled national interest in many topics related to its content, such as bioethics, race, gender, class, and poverty issues. Written by Rebecca Skloot, it has earned several prestigious awards since it was published by Crown Books in 2010. It was selected as the next common reading book from a field of 30 nominations sought from faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
