VANCOUVER, Wash. – Washington State University Vancouver will present its 2012 Research Showcase on April 19 in the Firstenburg Student Commons. The event offers the public, businesses representatives and WSU community a chance to see exemplary efforts by faculty and students in research, scholarship and artistic expression.
Events throughout the day are free and open to the public, and include:
* 10 a.m. 1 p.m. – Research Exhibits
More than 90 posters and exhibits of student and faculty research projects, digital artwork and scholarly publications.
* 10:30 a.m. 12 p.m. – History Research Presentations
Student presentations
Library, room 261 (Please note change of venue)
* 2:15 p.m. 2:30 p.m. – Awards Ceremony
A committee of faculty judges will give awards to the top three graduate and top three undergraduate projects.
* 4 p .m. – Reception
Faculty, staff, students and guests are invited to gather for informal conversation and networking.

* 4:30 p.m. – Keynote
Carolyn Landel, chief program officer for Washington STEM, will present, “Paradigm-Changing Partnerships.” Her talk will focus on partnership work and its role in education and society. (Click the following link for a bio on Landel.)
Washington STEM is an organization that partners with educational, business, civic and community leaders in accelerating, supporting and implementing comprehensive improvements in all areas of STEM. Landel is a biochemist with a heart for education. She holds a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology and blends her strong scientific training with her passion for education by supporting state and national science education reform efforts.
