Professional communicators share experiences, insights, and career-development ideas in a day-long series of free events designed for students, working pros, and the public.
On Tuesday, April 3, acclaimed journalist Marilyn Berger, widow of Don Hewitt, will talk about her storied career and life’s adventures. Her free, public address is at 6 p.m. in Communication Addition Bldg. (CADD) 21. Berger will sign copies of her book, “This Is a Soul,” which documents the efforts of humanitarian aid worker Dr. Rick Hodes, at 4:30 p.m. in CADD Atrium.
In the keynote address at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, crisis communication expert David Marriott will discuss his work on the Amanda Knox murder case. This free, public address also is in CADD 21.
For students, an array of workshops, seminars, resume critiques, and panel discussions provide opportunities to connect with professional communciators and learn about potential careers.
