The National Student Employment Association has declared April 9-15 as National Student Employment Week for 2012. This is the week Washington State University recognizes outstanding student employees for all their hard work. It is a great opportunity for employers to show their appreciation and honor those students who have made a difference in the work place.
Departments and employers are encouraged to participate in Student Employment Week to recognize their outstanding student employees! The following are some suggested activities of recognition for employers/departments to participate in during this much anticipated week.
Decorate the workplace with posters, banners, balloons etc.
Bring student workers treats such as cake, cookies, or pizza.
Give a pat on the back, handshake, and a simple and sincere “Thank You!”
Offer to write a letter of recommendation for them.
These are general ideas but feel free to be creative and really show your student employees how much you appreciate them!
