Alumnus turns family business into international success

PULLMAN, Wash. – Graduating from Washington State University with a Master of Arts degree in English in 1974, Howard Pechet’s father asked him to look into dinner theatre to support the family hotel chain in Western Canada.

Suffice it to say it was a booming success, and Pechet is now the executive producer of Stage West and chairman of Stagewest Hospitality.

Stagewest Hospitality, founded in 1975, owns several hotels, casinos and dinner theatres and has held 14 musical revues and more than 1,000 plays, earning Pechet the world record for the most number of plays produced.
