From yoga to religion to community service, students today are seeking meaning through exploration of their spirituality. The Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA defines spirituality in part as the “values we hold dear, our sense of who we are and where we come from – the meaning and purpose we see in our work and our life.” What is the role of spirituality on campus and in the educational mission of the university? Can academic performance and individual wellbeing be enhanced by spiritual growth? Should publicly funded institutions promote spiritual development of students? Please join us as professors, students and community members debate this hot topic on Tuesday, January 31 at noon in the CUB Lair (First Floor). We hope to see you at the debate!
