PULLMAN, Wash. – The Association for Faculty Women is seeking nominations for outstanding master’s and doctoral graduate students.
The top students completing their degrees in the 2011-2012 academic year will be recognized for their academic achievements and professional potential.
The Founders Award will recognize graduate students finishing their masters’ degrees and the Harriett B. Rigas Award will honor students completing their Ph.D. degree. The recognition will honor students who demonstrate that women can have an impact on academics, science and society.
Both full and part-time students are eligible for this award. These awards typically recognize women, but men who are doing research that promotes advancement for women are also eligible.
Nomination forms are available online on the website. Please send the name of the nominated student and their email address to AFW Awards Selection Committee Chair, Nancy Magnuson, magnuson@wsu.edu. Magnuson will contact the nominee and provide instructions for completing the nomination packet.
Completed nomination packets with materials and support letters must be sent and received to Magnuson by email or campus mail, zip 7520, by Friday, Feb. 24.
Winners will be announced in early April.
