PULLMAN, Wash. – Construction on the new building for the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health commenced in July 2010 with a 23-month construction schedule and occupancy this summer. The building will house 100 scientific staff and is located southeast of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
The 62,000 square foot three-story facility will include two floors of research laboratory space, a 5,000 square foot laboratory supporting both disease research and surveillance functions and an administrative wing containing conference rooms, administrative offices and the eventual connection to the Washington Animal Disease and Diagnostic Research Facility (WADDRF).
The 75,000 square foot WADDRF is planned for the west side of the site, adjoining and sharing resources with the Allen School facility.
