On Monday, January 16, 2012, students, faculty, staff and community members are asked to come together to make our world a better place through service. The Center for Civic Engagement is offering five service projects on this day of service: animal care with the Whitman County Humane Society from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; food donation sorting and distribution with the Community Action Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; horse care with Orphan Acres from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; a trivia and social event at Whitman Senior Living from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; and spring cleaning at the Palouse Discovery Science Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
