National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week 2011

November 13-19, 2011 is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, and the Center for Civic Engagement would like to invite you to participate in the many events and service projects happening during this week. Visit http://cce.wsu.edu/nhhaw to view the full schedule of events and service projects available during the week.

With the economic downturn, more and more people who do not fit the stereotype of homelessness are losing their homes. With the decrease in affordable housing and minimum wage not paralleling inflation, more people are fighting to survive and finding themselves below the poverty line. The CCE puts on engaging events to educate the community and encourage you take action on hunger and homelessness issues during this week of awareness. You cannot put effort in fixing problems you do not know are there; fight poverty with knowledge.
