PULLMAN – The third annual Globalization Poster Gallery, featuring research by students earning academic credit in either the International Center or the Education Abroad Office, will be 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, in the CUB junior ballroom.
The free, public poster presentations reflect the students’ chosen themes about globalization. The students are Peer Advisors, International Peer Mentors or International Center Interns – all of whom work in conjunction with the Education Abroad Office and the Office of International Students and Scholars in the Department of International Programs.
The International Peer Mentors program offers both international and domestic students the opportunity to gain leadership and cross-cultural communication skills. Students guide new international students through orientation and interact with them throughout the semester as they build connections to the campus and community.
The International Center internship program provides students with a diverse work environment and the opportunity to gain experience in marketing, program development and events planning. For more information on International Peer Mentors and International Center internships, go to http://www.ip.wsu.edu/intlcenter.
The goal of the Peer Advisor program is to provide returned study abroad participants the opportunity to gain practical experience in international education and to advance global citizenship. Peer Advisors play a variety of roles that aid the Education Abroad office with promotion of study abroad opportunities. For more information, go here.
