PULLMAN, Wash. Washington State University student organization V-Day WSU will be selling vagina chocolates in the CUB 11 a.m. 2 p.m. Nov. 29 to Dec. 3.
The vagina chocolate sales are one of the many services and fundraising opportunities V-Day WSU puts together to raise awareness and educate the community about gender violence. The vagina chocolates help promote the benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” which is the largest V-Day WSU sponsored event held during the school year.
The Vagina Monologues was created to educate the community and change social attitudes about violence against women. In the past eight years V-Day WSU has raised over $60,000 for local and global organizations that work to end violence, though most of the proceeds have benefited the local community.
The vagina chocolate sales raise money for local and national organizations that work to end violence. The recipients of the collected funds from the vagina chocolate sales are Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse, a local organization that offers shelter and support to survivors and victims of violence, and the woman and children of Haiti.
The large chocolates will be sold for $3 and the small chocolates will be sold for $1. This is V-Day WSU’s pre-sale for vagina chocolates. More chocolates will be sold in February along with tickets for “The Vagina Monologues.”
