Big Tent debate, film, simulations and more planned

 
PULLMAN – “Changing the Face of Poverty,” the theme of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Nov. 14-20, intends to illustrate that poverty and homelessness reach beyond the stereotypes.
 
Several WSU organizations will present events to raise awareness of poverty issues in the local community and around the world.
 
The Center for Civic Engagement will hold an Under the Big Tent debate at noon Thursday, Nov. 18, in the CUB Lair. The debate theme is “Out in the Cold: Housing and Poverty” and everyone is welcome to attend and share opinions about affordable housing.
 
Other activities will include a poverty simulation, 12-hour hunger simulation, showing of the film “Homeless to Harvard,” and a Habitat for Humanity project in Uniontown. For more information about the week’s events, visit http://cce.wsu.edu/nhhaw.
