The fairy tale ‘Cinderella’ comes to life

PULLMAN – The Eugene Ballet Company will bring to life the story of Cinderella’s journey from servant to princess in a full length ballet at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, in Beasley Coliseum.
The Eugene Ballet Company features a 22-member professional cast that includes nationally and internationally acclaimed dancers from Korea, Russia, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. The roles of gnomes and sprites are danced by 20 young students of the Festival Dance Academy, adding a local touch to the production.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring the Eugene Ballet to the Palouse once again,” said Cindy Barnhart, Festival Dance executive director. “Every ballet they have performed here – from ‘Swan Lake’ to ‘The Nutcracker’ – has been a big hit with our audiences, and I am sure that ‘Cinderella’ will receive raves as well.”
Tickets cost $14-$28 and are available from the Festival Dance Office, Beasley Coliseum Box Office and TicketsWest. Discounts for groups of 10 or more are available through Festival Dance (208) 883-3267.
“Cinderella” is the second offering of Festival Dance’s 2010-2011 Great Performances Series. Find more information here.
