Family Day entertains pre-game football crowds

PULLMAN – Approximately 3,000 people hit Mooberry Track at WSU for pre-game activities before the WSU-Montana State game last weekend.
A bounce house, obstacle course, games and slides were some of the fun destinations for children.
WSU student and staff member Phil Honeywell said the atmosphere at the track made the day a lot better.
“Family day is just a great way to spend time and get revved up before the game,” Honeywell said. “The kids love bouncing on the castle, sliding down the slides, running around on the grass. It’s just a great way to spend pre-game. It’s fun.”
Karlene Beaumont, associate director of University Events and Outreach, said working with the athletic department and other campus groups made the event come together. She said many people wanted to know if all the activities are coming back again.
“They were asking if this is every weekend, and of course we’ll have the inflatables every weekend, but we do plan to have this as an annual event because this is what Washington State University is all about,” said Beaumont.
