SPOKANE – Prepare to take the export certification exam and learn about exporting under NAFTA regulations in two state Department of Commerce courses offered by the WSU Small Business Development Center May 10-12.
Pre-registration is required and can be done online at the SBDC website. To register more than one person from the same company, contact Cindy Doyl at cdoyl@wsu.edu to receive a $50 discount.
The courses will be led by James Foley, director of the International Trade and NAFTA Opportunity Centers at Bradley University, Peoria, Ill. Foley has more than 20 years of experience in international marketing, sales and corporate management and is director of the NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) credential.
Classes will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day on the WSU Spokane Riverpoint Campus in Academic Center 347.
* Export Certification Course, May 10-11. This course, certified by the Washington State Department of Commerce, follows the outline recommended by NASBITE, the international association of the global business community. The course prepares participants to take the Certified Global Business Professional exam, offered twice a year by NASBITE.
The cost is $245 before May 3 or $295 after.
* Exporting under NAFTA, May 12. For companies exporting to Canada or Mexico, this one-day seminar is designed to help determine what products qualify for duty-free tariff treatment. Learn how to accurately complete the NAFTA Certificates of Origin and other documents.
The cost is $100 before May 3 and $150 after.
