PULLMAN – Here are a few glimpses of the daytime portion of Springfest, presented this past weekend by the WSU Student Entertainment Board.
The festival portion of the event, held 12-5 p.m. in the Grimes Way parking lot, was free to WSU students It included three carnival rides – the Octopus, Gravitron and Yo-Yo – and multiple interactive activities, including a human gyroscope, mechanical bull, bungee run, bungee cord trampoline, and an obstacle course.
Daytime activities also included acoustic performances, a magic show, trampoline entertainment performed by Flippenout, a kids’ area, gaming RV, food, and a beer garden.
The event also featured a variety of nighttime entertainment. Opening this year was the reggae band Redeye Empire, as well as Genevieve, the Battle of the Bands 2010 winner.
Then came two headline acts, the first was the Ying Yang Twins, known for songs such as “Salt Shaker,” “Wait (The Whisper Song)” and “Drop.” The second was The Maine, known for songs such as “Into Your Arms” and “Everything I Ask For.”
