PULLMAN – The annual Springfest daytime festival and evening concerts will be Saturday, April 24, sponsored by the Student Entertainment Board. Last year, an estimated 6,000-7,000 attended WSU Pullman’s largest student led event.
The festival, noon-5 p.m., in the veterinary medicine parking lot on Grimes Way, will be free with student ID and $5 for others. It will include carnival rides – the Octopus, Gravitron and Yo-Yo – a human gyroscope, mechanical bull, bungee run, bungee cord trampoline and obstacle course.
Daytime activities also will include acoustic performances, a magic show, trampoline entertainment by Flippenout, a kids’ area, a gaming RV, food and a beer garden. Registered student organizations will staff tables to promote their groups.
Concerts will be 6:30-11 p.m. in Beasley coliseum. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Floor tickets are sold out, but other tickets cost $5 for WSU students with ID and $20 for others. They are on sale at the Cougar Card Center and TicketsWest. Prices will increase $10 at the door for students and the public.
Two acts will co-headline: The Ying Yang Twins, known for songs such as “Salt Shaker,” “Wait (The Whisper Song)” and “Drop;” and The Maine, known for songs such as “Into Your Arms” and “Everything I Ask For.” Opening will be the reggae band Redeye Empire as well as Genevieve, the Battle of the Bands 2010 winner.
