PULLMAN – Since the 1890s, WSU has maintained a collection of plants from around the world housed in the Marion Ownbey Herbarium. A majority are from the Pacific Northwest and other western states.
The collection allows researchers and the public to identify plants they might find or need to control. Director Larry Hufford said visits to the herbarium in Heald Hall are free to the public, but he asks visitors to call ahead, 335-3250 or hufford@wsu.edu, so someone is available to help them.
