SPOKANE – A group of WSU Spokane architecture students collaborated with professionals on a high-tech installation on display in the downtown Riverpark Square atrium during National Architecture Week, April 11-17.
“The installation is the result of a collective team design process to raise awareness about contemporary architecture and design in Spokane,” said John Abell, associate professor of architecture at WSU Spokane.
Students worked with the Spokane chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to display how new technologies and practices influence community development and architectural design.
“The installation is both an exhibit system and a material demonstration of contemporary prototyping and rapid manufacturing methods for modeling, representation and experimentation for product research and development at the leading edge of architectural design,” Abell said.
Students who worked on the project include: Amy Boudinot, James Brockman, Cameron Johnson, Aaron Pasquale, Brandon Patterson, Matthew Reeves, Mona Rezvani, Jessica, Ryan and Tyler Troutman.
