“Health Care Reform: Bottom Line – It’s About People” will be the topic of the WSU College of Business Power Breakfast 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday, April 22, at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane. The cost is $35.
Speaker Thomas M. Fritz, CEO of Inland Northwest Health Services, administers a 102-bed, freestanding physical rehabilitation and medicine hospital; an ever-growing, comprehensive integrated hospital information technology system that manages more than 45,000 users in hospitals, clinics and physicians’ offices and more than 3.5 million electronic medical records; a multi-state critical care air ambulance service; and a widespread network of more than 100 telemedicine units throughout the Northwest.
The innovative INHS information technology network is consistently mentioned as a national model of success, with 21 hospitals recognized in 2009 as the “100 Most Wired” in the nation by Hospitals and Health Networks magazine. Fritz recently was recognized by Seattle Business magazine as the “Outstanding Health Care Executive – Beyond Puget Sound.”
Fritz has more than 25 years of experience working in direct patient care as well as government, nonprofit and for-profit health care systems. He has a proven track record of developing and improving financial and regulatory stability of freestanding and government-based health care facilities through innovative thinking and the ability to bring multiple parties together to create solutions.
He is actively involved in public policy. His role with INHS provides a broad viewpoint and perspective into how policies impact a variety of health care services, and his experience working with government officials provides insight into how public policy shapes the future of the health care industry.
