PULLMAN – Earth Week will be celebrated at WSU Pullman April 19-23, with a focus on water conservation.
U.S. Sen. Gaylord Nelson first promoted an annual Earth Day (April 22) in the 1960s.
WSU Wellbeing, the Center for Civic Engagement and University Recreation are teaming up with student groups GIVE and the Environmental Task Force to coordinate the week’s events. They will include:
* 60 Gallons a Day, an informational water conservation workshop, 12:10-12:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, in Smith CUE 203.
* Under the Big Tent debate, “Is Blue the New Green?” noon-1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, on the Terrell Mall.
Other workshops/classes, service projects, bike rides/clinics, and stream and campus cleanup outings are planned.
