WSU President Floyd to speak at College of Business event

PULLMAN – The College of Business will hold its next Power Breakfast, sponsored by Slalom Consulting and Two Degrees, at 7:30 am. April 9. The breakfast will take place at the W Seattle Hotel and feature speaker WSU President Elson S. Floyd.
Floyd has been president of the four-campuses of WSU since 2007 and was previously president of the University of Missouri and Western Michigan University. A native of North Carolina, Floyd holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and speech, a master of education degree in adult education, and a doctor of philosophy degree in higher and adult education, all from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
His background in Washington education dates back to 1990, when he served as executive director of the Washington State Higher Education Coordinating Board and later as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Eastern Washington University.
Now in its seventh year, the Power Breakfast series continues to inform, inspire and engage WSU alumni and regional business leaders on topics of entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership. Previous speakers for the Power Breakfast series include inaugural speaker Kerry Killinger, Blake Nordstrom, Scott Carson, Richard M. Kovacevich, Robert J. Herbold, Harold Gilkey, Sally Jewell, Bill Ayer, Colleen B. Brown, Jeff Pinneo, Tod Leiweke, Ted Baseler and WSU College of Business Dean Eric Spangenberg.
