Fire education for land and home owners

SPOKANE VALLEY – Fire experts from Oregon, Idaho and Washington will provide tools to help home and land owners better protect their properties from forest and wildland fires at a fire education workshop scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the CenterPlace Regional Events Center.

“In order for us to live more safely in these fire prone areas, homeowners and landowners alike can increase the survivability of people and property by taking some preventative measures,” said Janean Creighton, WSU Extension natural resources educator. “This workshop will provide you with the tools to better protect your home and your land from a devastating fire.”

Registration is $25 per family and pays for class materials, refreshments and one lunch. Additional lunches are $15. Contact Creighton at (509) 477-2199 or creighton@wsu.edu for more information.
