PULLMAN – Learn personal risk reduction and self defense techniques from trained professionals at University Recreation’s Self Defense and Personal Safety class March 8 and 9.
The Self Defense and Personal Safety classes are based on RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) curriculum. RAD is a nationally recognized self defense and personal safety course. This two day class will help to develop awareness and skills to act in the presence of a harmful or threatening situation.
Taking a self defense class will not ensure complete safety but can drastically reduce the chance of an incident occurring. University Recreation and various WSU departments encourage the Pullman community to take advantage of this course.
Tommy Simmons, ASWSU Vice President said, “Our hope is that this program will help educate our students about being safe here at WSU as well as when they graduate.”
The cost of this course is $40 for SRC members, $55 for non-members and registration closes March 3. Scholarships are available for current WSU female, undergraduate students to take the class. For more information or to register visit urec.wsu.edu or call 335-UREC.
