‘The Vagina Monologues’ begins ticket sales

PULLMAN – Tickets for the 2008 WSU benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” will go on sale Friday, Feb. 11.
Tickets will be sold weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Todd Atrium and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Women’s Resource Center in Wilson room 8. tickets are $8 for students and $10 for general public.
The 2008 benefit production will be performed Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m., in Jones Theater located at Daggy Hall on the WSU Pullman campus.
Proceeds from the benefit production will be donated to Alternatives to
Violence of the Palouse, a local organization working to provide a safe,
supportive environment for victims of domestic or sexual violence.
A portion of the proceeds will also go to the 2008 V-Day Spotlight group, The Women of New Orleans.
Eve Ensler created “The Vagina Monologues” after interviewing more than 200 women about their experiences with men, women, sex, violence and life. The first performance launched a global movement called V-Day, which is focused on stopping violence against women and girls.
This will be the sixth year that V-Day WSU has performed the benefit
production of “The Vagina Monologues.” With the support of the students and community members V-Day WSU has been able to raise more than $20,000 to help stop violence against women and girls.
