The WSU Department of English will conclude this autumn’s Visiting Writer Series with William Gruber on Wed., Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the WSU Museum of Art Gallery.
Mr. Gruber was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He was educated at Yale University, the University of Idaho, and Washington State University. He worked as a journalist and served in the Marine Corps before becoming a college professor. Since 1980 he has taught at Emory University in Atlanta, where he is a professor of English and also chairs the department. His book, “On all sides of nowhere”(Houghton Mifflin, 2002), won the Bakeless Prize for non-fiction from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. “On all sides of nowhere” chronicles Mr. Gruber’s experiences in the Inland Northwest.
Gruber’s reading is co-sponsored by the Museum of Art/WSU. A reception and booksigning will follow. Books will be made available for purchase, courtesy of The Bookie.
