Press Conference with WSU President V. Lane Rawlins Oct. 24

PULLMAN, Wash. — A report examining the status of women at Washington State University will be released at a press conference at 2 p.m. (PDT), Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Food, Science and Human Nutrition Building, Room 101. WSU President V. Lane Rawlins will be available for questions.

The study, released by the WSU Commission on the Status of Women, examined campus climate; student enrollment, retention and degree completion; and faculty and staff recruitment, employment and retention between 1995-2000. Commission members included administrators, faculty, staff and students.

Those expected to participate in the hour-long press conference include V. Lane Rawlins, president, WSU; Sandra Brabb, 2001-02 chair, Commission on the Status of Women; Millie Hill, 2000-01 chair, Commission on the Status of Women; and Kathy Zeches, member, Executive Board, Commission on the Status of Women. Joe Barnes, director, Strategic Communication and Media Relations, will moderate the press conference.

The moderator will ask President Rawlins and a commission member to make a few comments. He then will open the floor to questions from the media.
