Council on Campus Climate to Unveil Action Plan

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University’s Council on Campus Climate will share its recommendations at a news conference set for 9 a.m. April 24 in Lighty Student Services Building, Room 405 on the Pullman campus.

The council has met since Oct. 10 to develop a plan of action for improving climate on campus for students, faculty and staff, regardless of race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, age or ability. Council members include 20 students and 10 faculty and staff.

In its action plan, the council specifically addresses violence, recruitment and retention of faculty and staff of color, homophobia and racism.

WSU President V. Lane Rawlins and council chair Milton Lang will provide comments at the news conference.
