PULLMAN, Wash. — Good seats are still available for both the 6 and 9 p.m.
shows featuring magician David Copperfield at Washington State University’s
Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum Dec. 14.
Ticket prices are $39.50 and $29.50 and WSU students receive a $10 discount
with their ID card. Tickets for the Pullman shows are less expensive than
tickets to see Copperfield perform in larger venues, said Joe Kerr, coliseum
director.
“We are excited to have an artist of this caliber in Pullman,” Kerr said.
Copperfield has had numerous television specials in addition to his worldwide
tours and “Dreams and Nightmares,” a Broadway show. Twice he has been
named “Entertainer of the Year.” Copperfield was knighted by the French
government as the “Chevalier of Arts and Letters,” and was recently given an
honorary doctorate of humane letters from Fordham University.
His magical highlights include making the Statute of Liberty disappear before a
live audience of New Yorkers, levitating across the Grand Canyon and
becoming the first person to “successfully” escape from Alcatraz.
Copperfield says that his greatest work to date is “Project Magic,” a
rehabilitative program established in March 1982 to strengthen dexterity and
motor skills in disabled patients, using sleight-of-hand magic as a method of
therapy. “Project Magic” has been
accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association and is
currently implemented in 1,100 hospitals and in 30 countries worldwide.
Tickets are on sale now for the two shows at the coliseum box office and all
G&B ticket outlets. They also can be ordered by phone at 800/325-SEAT or
online at www.ticketswest.com.
